NAME: William "Penny" Adiyodi

CANON POINT: The end of Season 1, before the final showdown with the Beast
AGE: It's never established by canon on the television series but they're all in grad school? so 23-25ish, and given his complete lack of backstory, I'm going to go with 25 to give me a couple of years of footloose worldweary wandering to work with. He's officially apparently 28 at the end of the series so there's that to back me up on the 25.

Honestly the show is awful about his backstory.
PAST GAME MEMORIES: N/A
PERSONALITY: Penny is a passionate person who uses colorful language and a sometimes intense demeanor to keep people at arm's length. However, once he's given his loyalty, it's a done deal and he dies for them- or lives for them. He's shown to be physically affectionate with the people he loves, often walking with his hands all over his first-season girlfriend Kady, but also physically aggressive with the show's protagonist, Quentin Coldwater. He's often seen aggressively posturing and rolling his eyes in the background and he really, really enjoys sneering at anything that seems sappy or weak.
Penny's past is mostly canonically unknown, but we can see the effect of it on his interactions with others. He was removed from his family home by child protective services in his youth and placed in foster care, which may have contributed to his attachment issues. His fuckbuddies-with-study-buddy-benefits arrangement with Kady seems to show a celebration of casual and passionate sex, but it's revealed shortly into season two that he fell in love fast and hard for her, and is willing to overlook betrayal and treachery and outright lies to keep the relationship going. He's hurt by her refusal to even try, his alternate timeline (Penny23) self has a similar strongly-bonded attachment to another female character, who likewise does not return his intense devotion in timeline 40.
Penny shows an awareness of kink in his taunting of Quentin at several points in the series, as when Quentin asks to be shoved harder during a dreamspell sequence and he taunts the man- and then delivers. He is often sullen to authority figures, sitting in the back of class scoffing at the lecturer in several scenes. His knee jerk reaction is often explosive frustration followed by quick thinking and developing plans of action to navigate the complex plotlines of the show. He may not always start the fight, but he definitely doesn't have a problem being the person to end it- on his terms.
Penny is, at his basic core, impatient and defensively explosive, quick to anger and quicker to lustful deeds, but with a real need to have someone- or several many someones- to look after, protect, and care for, as demonstrated in his attempts to assist both Kady and Julia and prove himself to them.
POWERS/ABILITIES: Penny is a Magician and a Traveller. His Discipline is Psychic, which plays out in the show as an ability to read thoughts/incept minds/interrupt dreams/sense feelings. But that doesn't mean that he can't use other spells- it just means that's his most instinctive form of interacting with magical forces. As a Traveller, he's something inherently magical and other-than-human, with the ability to simply BLIP from place to place, although there are several stated risks to that kind of movement (he might blip himself into a volcano, for example). While in later episodes he learns how to carry others, as of the end of Season 1 he can only Travel himself, but he can travel to other worlds as well as within his world instantaneously. He often catches stray thoughts from other people (his roommate during first season is Quentin and he is often shown to be irritated at Quentin's thoughts intruding into his mind and he seems to have a particular ability to access Quentin's mind over other). I have no idea what of these powers he'll be allowed to retain in-game, but I'm guessing probably not the Traveller one, or only very limited.

I'm not opposed to this random fucking interruption of my life, assuming I can make enough of both of those categories to have a good time without wasting my time. Unfortunately, I seem to have left all of my fuckbuddy references in my other pair of pants, which inconveniently did not Travel with me, this time, so you're just going to have to take my word for the fact that I can make a telekinetic float.
